Noli June is a Memphis-based mahjong brand founded by Elyse Pickle and inspired by her grandmother Sue, who hosted a Tuesday mahjong group with her girlfriends for about forty years. Each mat is named for Sue or one of her friends (Lena, Harriet, Jean and the rest of the table), and every design is drawn by the founder herself.
The mats are 33.5" square in a heavy 20.6oz textured leatherette, about 1mm thick: wipe-clean, spill-proof and made in London. Each one now ships rolled in its own leatherette sleeve with a gold snap. Many mats have a coordinating 55" cotton-linen tablecloth and a little round dice dish, so you can dress the whole table, and there’s a scalloped folding mahjong table hand-built in Tennessee.
