About Oh My Mahjong

Oh My Mahjong blends traditional American mahjong with a modern, design-forward look, and it’s one of the most popular places to buy a first (or fifth!) set.

As an Oh My Mahjong Mahji Mentor instructor, I have a personal love for this brand. They were my very first introduction to mahj and my first set of tiles (I love you forever, Sierra!), and they’ve supported my teaching journey in the best way.

My Favorite Oh My Mahjong Tiles

It’s hard for me to pick my favorite OMM items because I love so many! Heritage tiles are probably my favorite set because they’re incredibly versatile, as are their brother Smith tiles and their sisters Glow Wild and Talulah, both with tortoise backs. Patterned-back tiles are your friend when it comes to matching lots of mats!

I also love Gatsby, Willow and Sierra (did I mention that?), and Pearlescent is my go-to pastel set that matches every single pastel mat I have (see the Pearlescent matches). Amara is one of the top pink tiles I recommend (see the Amara matches), along with the new LoveShackFancy collab. OK, that’s a lot of favorites. I’ll stop now!

Want to see how these tiles look with different mats and racks? Browse our Mahjong Tile Matches, or join the Mahj Matchmaker Facebook group to explore the full library of 700+ matches, including lots of Oh My Mahjong tile albums.

My Favorite Oh My Mahjong Mats

As for mats, don’t ask. It’s like picking a favorite child. OK, you asked, so I’ll try, but know that my love of OMM mats runs deep, and new favorites make their way into my life sometimes often. Here are a few of my favorites:

Retired mats can often be found in Facebook groups (like ours!) and other mahj buy-and-sell groups.

Mahj Matchmaker Tip

Oh My Mahjong's tiles have very distinct color palettes, so it's worth pairing your set with a mat and racks before you check out. That way your 10% covers the whole table, not just the tiles. Find your perfect mahjong match →
